so i was watching my vandread 2nd stage fansubs that arrived today. and when hibiki/meia/dita/jura are trapped inside the enemy ship protecting pyoro and telling barnette to escape, they do it so calmly. and i realise that a lot of other times in other animes the characters who face certain death due to protecting something always take it without any fear.
or rather, perhaps they fear but they don't show it. and i wonder if i was ever in such a situation i would have the strength to not hold on but calmly accept fate and still do my best to escape the situation (miracles do happen.)
if i were to die for my friend, i'd think that was a good/worthy death. it's cliche and like "omg so noble" and all, but seriously, isn't it? it'd sort of make sure that your life wasn't a total waste.
on the flip side, if someone were to do that for me, i wonder how i'd feel. vengeful, or sad, or emotionless, or some combination of them. it's not much point really trying to go after someone, i guess it'd just make the whole sacrifice worthless. perhaps the best would be to remember what the person did and not forget. and make sure they didn't do it for nothing.
okay i realise this might be rather morbid because i doubt a situation like someone saving your life/vice versa and dying in the process would ever happen. but well you never know, it's alwayas unexpected isn't it. death is around the corner and strikes when you least think it'll come.
was just some random thoughts after watching. i still think 2nd stage was damn good. and was rather affected by the episode where gasco "died" and the shirley one. zomg i cried. ;_;
still feeling all thoughtful. whee.
